FEBRUARY – marks Black History Month, an essential chapter of the United States of America’s 250-year story.

This month honors the historic journey of Black Americans—from slavery to emancipation, from denied humanity to civil and constitutional rights—and recognizes the countless individuals who believed deeply in the promise of America. Many served in the military, labored beside fellow Americans, and sacrificed their lives for the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity.

Black Americans have played a foundational role in shaping the nation’s economy, culture, defense, and democratic progress. Their story is inseparable from American history.
